The City of St. John’s has reported a water main break in the busy downtown area of Water Street between Prescott Street and the Supreme Court building

City crews are working to repair the area, and expect it to be fixed by 4 p.m.

In the meantime, residents and businesses are advised that water outages, low water pressure and discolored water are possible.

If discolored water is noticed, the city advises running cold tapwater in a bathtub until it clears.
