Driver is impaired driving suspect; passenger arrested on breaches of court orders

St. John's—The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is still investigating a possible impaired driver after a traffic stop Wednesday night on Kenmount Road, but the passenger has been charged with breaching court orders.

The 59-year-old driver of the vehicle was believed to be impaired by drug or alcohol and was taken to the police station for further testing after his car was stopped around 11 p.m.

The 33 -year-old woman passenger was charged with multiple breaches of courts orders. She was held at the city lockup to appear before a judge in this morning (Thursday).
