It was the second impaired driving incident in CBS reported by police overnight Saturday. A few hours earlier, a 41-year-old man was pulled over and charged with impaired driving, driving while over the legal blood-alcohol limit, uttering threats towards a police officer and breaching a court order, as well as having no insurance, a suspended license, a false license plate, expired registration and failing to transfer ownership of the vehicle. As well, he owed $16,000 in fines.
The man, a St. John's resident, was taken into custody and will appear in court this morning. The vehicle was impounded.
