Drunk driver crashes vehicle into home in C.B.S.

A Paradise woman has been given a driving suspension after crashing her car into a home in C.B.S. while drunk early this morning.

Members of the RNC were called to the Upper Gullies home around 3:30am. The home sustained minor damage while the woman's vehicle was more extensively beaten up. There were no injuries.

The 32-year-old woman was given a 7-day driving suspension for driving while

over the legal blood-alcohol limit.

It was the second impaired driving incident in CBS reported by police overnight Saturday. A few hours earlier, a 41-year-old man was pulled over and charged with impaired driving, driving while over the legal blood-alcohol limit, uttering threats towards a police officer and breaching a court order, as well as having no insurance, a suspended license, a false license plate, expired registration and failing to transfer ownership of the vehicle. As well, he owed $16,000 in fines.

The man, a St. John's resident, was taken into custody and will appear in court this morning. The vehicle was impounded.
