St. John’s, N.L. — Shortly after midnight Saturday the RNC attempted a traffic stop in the area of Empire Avenue. A young man who was driving the vehicle jumped out and took off running.
He was arrested by the officer after a brief foot pursuit.
The driver was charged with obstruction and breach of court order.
He was also issued numerous summary offence tickets which included driving while his licence was suspended and speeding.
The young man was held in custody and was to make a court appearance this morning.
