A car fire in a workshop at a self-storage business in St. John’s caused some tense moments Saturday afternoon.

St. John’s Regional Fire Department firefighters responded to the U-Haul building on Kenmount Road at about 4:30 p.m. and made quick work of the fire after an employee had used a fire extinguisher on the blaze as well.

Damage was contained to the vehicle in the workshop but an official on scene said it could have been worse had it not been extinguished quickly.

The workshop also contained several other vehicles.

No one was injured in the incident.
