The TerraNovas Tourism Association is receiving $342,109 from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) to upgrade and enhance hiking trails on the Road to the Beaches. The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation is contributing $120,219 to the project.

Specific components of this project include upgrading, enhancing and expanding the Salvage trails to link them to historical, architectural and coastal experiences available; upgrading and re-routing the 'Old Trail' between Salvage and Sandy Cove to take full advantage of available scenic vistas at Newman's Sound and make linkages to the story of resettlement; improving the trail between Sandy Cove and Happy Adventure to link it to a traditional fishing setting in Happy Adventure; and, redevelopment of Eastport's High Tide Trail to link the community's two sandy beaches and popular family experiences.

The Town of Glovertown will receive $351,552 from ACOA and $128,750 from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation to implement the second phase of the Glovertown Town Centre Plan.

Through this initiative, the town will improve two existing properties, including surrounding landscape, and add improved lighting and directional signage throughout the community.

The Glovertown Yacht Club will receive $159,325 from ACOA and $247,048 from the province to undertake the fourth phase of the marina development.

The project includes constructing 10 new docks, developing a maintenance shed and marina centre, improving security at the facility with new equipment and fencing, and undertaking marketing and promotional activities.
