George Street disturbance leads to man's arrest

RNC investigators are looking to speak with anyone who might have information about a two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday morning on the Conception Bay highway in Long Pond.
The RNC responded to 194 calls during its last 24-hour reporting period.

A 36-year-old man didn't have a great end to a night of revelling on George Street in St. John's early Thursday morning.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a disturbance in the downtown area around 12:50 a.m. They arrested a 36-year-old man for causing a public disturbance and resisting arrest.
After he was placed in the patrol car to be taken to lockup, the man added damage to property to his charges as he smashed out the rear window of the cruiser.
He was held overnight and will appear in court Thursday morning.
In another call, shortly after 3 a..m., the RNC were called to a home in downtown St. John's to deal with a domestic disturbance.
As a result, a 41-year-old man was arrested and charged with a breach of a court order. He was taken to lockup and held overnight pending a court appearance on Thursday morning.
Earlier in the night, RNC were called to a centre city business in St. John's after they were called regarding a possible theft form the buisness.
A 33-year-old man was arrested for the theft. After he was charged he was released to appear incourt at a later date.
The RNC responded to 194 calls for service during the 24-hour reporting period.
