The Victoria Day weekend didn’t end on a happy note for a man in Goulds on Monday afternoon.
The RNC responded to the report of an impaired driver in Goulds around 1 p.m. and located a 55-year-old man though to be driving while impaired. He was issued the breathalyzer and found to be over the legal limit.

He was charged with impaired driving. The man was released after receiving his charge to appear in court in St. John’s at a later date.

His vehicle was impounded.

The RNC responded to a disturbance in the centre city area of St. John’s around 10 p.m. and arrested a 27-year-old man at the scene.

He was charged with one count of assault and four breaches of court orders. The man was taken to lockup overnight and is to appear in court Tuesday morning.
The RNC responded to 200 calls for service during its 24-hour reporting period.
