HARBOUR GRACE, N.L.
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
CANADA
Guilty pleas are expected for at least some of the charges a Carbonear man is facing when his case returns to Harbour Grace Provincial Court next month.
Wayne Penney Jr. faces multiple charges that include possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of prescription medication for the purpose of trafficking, along with multiple counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.
His case returned to court last Tuesday, Sept. 13, where a judge agreed to set over the matter until Oct. 10 for speedy disposition. In such circumstances, the accused would be expected to have the matter resolved by entering one or more guilty pleas at that court date.
According to a news release issued earlier this year, Penney was arrested May 4 after police executed a search warrant at a home on Butts Avenue in Carbonear.
