The Newfoundland and Labrador Association for Community Living and The Coalition of Persons with Disabilities — Newfoundland and Labrador (COD-NL) are inviting residents to sessions to talk about the new supports model being introduced by the provincial government, called Individualized Funding.

According to a news release, the new way of delivering supports focuses more on what the individual wants or needs.

“We want to hear from you about how home support and other community supports should be delivered to benefit you,” the poster for the events reads.

Events will be held in Gander (Sept. 14, 1-4 p.m., Hotel Gander); Deer Lake (Sept. 18, 1-4 p.m., Holiday Inn Express); Labrador City (Sept. 21, 1-4 p.m., Two Seasons Inn); Bay Roberts (Oct. 4, 1-4 p.m., Avalon Wolverines Search and Rescue); and St. John’s (Oct. 23, 1-4 p.m., Bally Haly Golf and Curling Club).

Those who can’t attend in person can be connected via teleconference. Travel subsidies may also be available for people who otherwise may not be able to attend.
