Valerie Parrott and Betty Way are friends who worked together for 20 years and remained friends after retiring. They both usually buy a ticket each to support the Health Care Foundation without ever really thinking they’d win.
“This time we almost had an argument over how many tickets we’d buy,” Way said.
Good for the two of them that the argument ended with them each getting a ticket for themselves and a third ticket they decided to split.
It was that third ticket with both their names on it that won them the home.
“It was pretty exciting. We were really surprised,” Parrott said.
That begs the question of how do you split a house?
“Betty says I get the outside and she gets the inside,” Parrott said.
They’re going to give some thought about what to do with it.
