The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says officers responded to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on St. Thomas Line in Paradise at 9:15 p.m. Friday. The driver had already left the vehicle when they got there.

Police found the 29-year-old driver in a parked vehicle nearby, and charged him with impaired driving, failing the breathalyzer, driving while suspended and failure to transfer ownership of the vehicle.

He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
