Kitchen fire damages home on Pennywell Road in St. John's Thursday evening

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the home and a fire in the kitchen area. Attack lines were laid through the front door on the main floor of the home and firefighters had the blaze under control within minutes but not before the kitchen was damaged by fire, smoke and water. The rest of the home also suffered smoke damage from the incident. Traffic was blocked on the street as firefighters worked on the fire. There were no injuries to any of the residents.
