Three weeks to the day from the start of a strike at the Iron Ore Company of Canada, members of the United Steelworkers Union in Labrador City will vote on the most recent offer from the company.
Following several failed attempts to reach a new agreement both sides emerged from the latest talks late last week with a tentative agreement.
Details of that offer will be presented to the membership of local 5795 at a meeting Monday, April 16 at the Labrador City Arena. Negotiating team members will be at the meeting to take questions and will be available at the union office if members need more information.
Voting takes place Tuesday April 16 from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m. It’s expected the results of the vote will be released shortly after voting closes.
The Aurora will keep you informed as the story progresses.
