The latest MQO Research quarterly political poll shows support for the Liberal Party in the province has remained steady at 44 per cent since the last poll, with Progressive Conservative Party support remaining steady at 36 per cent.
The New Democratic Party drew 16 per cent support once again.
The research for the results was conducted by speaking to 600 residents of Newfoundland and Labrador for the May edition of the quarterly political poll Atlantic Matters.
Ratings for the leadership of Premier Dwight Ball were unchanged this quarter with a score of 4.8 (on a 10-point scale).
The economic outlook for the province held relatively steady in May with 49 per cent of residents of Newfoundland and Labrador reporting that their outlook on the economy had worsened over the past three months, 39 per cent indicated their outlook had stayed the same, while nine per cent felt things had gotten better.
MQO Research says it is one of Atlantic Canada’s leading market research firms.
The Atlantic Matters poll was conducted by telephone from April 21 to May 13 and included 600 randomly selected eligible voters from across the province. The margin of error for the total sample is ± 4.0 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
