GANDER, NL – Central Health has implemented limited visitation precautions on the nursing care unit at Lakeside Homes in Gander due to cases of respiratory illness.
Only one visitor at a time is permitted for each patient or resident, and no one is permitted to visit under the age of 14.
The precautions, which are effective immediately, do not apply to people visiting palliative care patients.
All visitors to Central Health buildings are reminded to wash their hands after arriving and before leaving.
Anyone experiencing any flu-like symptoms is asked to delay visiting any of the health authority’s facilities until they have recovered.
