Little Bay East native receives Order of Military Merit

Scott Osborne of Little Bay East was one of 46 individuals invested into the Order of Military Merit during a ceremony in Ottawa on Monday.

Little Bay East native Scott Osborne was invested into the Order of Military Merit on Monday in Ottawa.

Osborne, who is stationed in Halifax, N.S., was nominated for the recognition by HMCS Toronto.

Governor General David Johnston, Commander-in-Chief of Canada, presided over yesterday’s ceremony at Rideau Hall.

The honour was bestowed upon two Commanders, 12 Officers and 32 Members. Osborne was recognized at the Member level.

The Order of Military Merit was created in 1972 and recognizes meritorious service and devotion to duty by members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
