Local cadet named Royal Canadian Legion Cadet of the Year

Chief Petty Officer Second Class Madelyn Drover of the 166 Fort Townshend Sea Cadet Corps was named Royal Canadian Legion’s Cadet of the Year Saturday.  

Drover was recognized for her dedication and her instructional ability with younger cadets and was given the award during the 50th Annual Ceremonial Review for the local cadet corps. She was also awarded a $5,000 Youth Citizenship Foundation Scholarship to help her pursue her education at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
