The intent is that the 8,000-square foot building will serve as a library for at least 50 years, according to a news release. Its proposed opening is in the fall of 2019.

Calvin Taylor, chair of the Provincial Information and Library Resources Board, said they’re excited to work on the project.

“Once completed, families will certainly be happy to see a new modern library that meets the changing needs of users. It will undoubtedly provide for the continued growth and success of our young people,” he said in the release.
