Man arrested after police find drugs, rifle, stolen ATV, dirt bike at St. John’s home

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with possession of prescription drugs for the purpose of trafficking and other related offences in connection with a recent police search of a St. John’s residence.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU– NL), an integrated investigative unit, consisting of members from both the RCMP and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary searched the residence Friday around 1 p.m.

Brad Morrell, 32, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and three breaches of undertakings.

The investigation is ongoing and police say further charges are pending. Morrell has been held in custody and is expected to appear in court today.

During the search, police officers said they seized about 1,000 prescription pills including hydromorphone, Ritalin, morphine and oxycodone with a street value of approximately $20,000. Also seized were a Ruger rifle with ammunition, cash and other drug paraphernalia. A stolen ATV and dirt bike were also found on the property.
