Man arrested on a weapon's charge

A man is in custody this morning after he used a hatchet to assault another person on St. Thomas Line on Monday night.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called to the scene just after 9 p.m. when they were alerted a man had been struck in the head with a hatchet.

The man was arrested without incident and the victim was sent to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

In another overnight incident, an adult female was arrested for impaired driving in C.B.S. at 2:50 a.m. early Tuesday.

She was released following the incident andwill appear incourt at a later date. He car was impounded
