Man ejected in St. John's crash dies

A 27-year-old man ejected from a crashed Corvette Wednesday on Blackhead Road by Shea Heights died today (Friday), according to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

A accident on Blackhead Road just before Shea Heights Wednesday is now a fatal motor vehicle investgation.

The accident investigation section is investigating the single-vehicle collision.

It happened just before noon Wednesday.

The vehicle involved was a 2008 white Chevrolet Corvette and was travelling north on Blackhead Road just before Shea Heights. It was coming from the direction of Cape Spear before leaving the roadway.

The 22-year-old male driver remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Accident Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the vehicle driving just prior to the collision or the collision itself to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
