Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) have a man in custody after they stopped a pickup truck on Viking Road in St. John’s around noon on Saturday.

The man left the scene in an ambulance.

“It was a traffic stop and… for whatever reason, the person exited the vehicle and kind of ran around a little bit and then got back in their truck,” said RNC Sgt. Rod Priddle.

“We deemed it as partially medical, so we’re dealing with the medical side of it now, and there may be charges laid later today but we don’t know that yet because that’s still under investigation.”

Sgt. Priddle said more information will be available tomorrow morning if charges are laid.
