Memorial motorcycle ride honours paramedic Chris Pearce

The St. John’s and Aea First Responders’ second annual memorial motorcycle ride in memory of paramedic Chris Pearce will take place on Sunday, Aug. 6 starting 10 a.m. from St. John Bosco School in Shea Heights.

First responders from local organizations pose on the parking lot of the College of the North Atlantic Thursday evening. They included the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, Health Sciences Centre paramedics, Her Majesty’s Penitentiary personnel, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Rovers Ground Search and Rescue, Military Police and Royal Newfoundland Regiment.

Pearce was a paramedic at the Health Sciences Centre. He died on Aug. 5, 2015.

All proceeds from the event will go to support and raise awareness about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and mental illness within first responders. A post-ride barbecue will take place 4 p.m. at the far upper right corner parking lot of the Health Sciences Centre near the Ronald McDonald House NL.
