Terra Nova MHA Colin Holloway has formally filed complaints against four MHAs, alleging harassment.
The first two complaints are against former Liberal caucus members Eddie Joyce and Dale Kirby.
Holloway didn’t get specific on the complaints, only to say they are similar in nature to other complaints that have come forward from Service NL Minister Sherry Gambin-Walsh and Tory MHA Tracey Perry. The complaints are not sexual or physical in nature.
The second round of complaints are against Opposition Leader Paul Davis and NDP Leader Gerry Rogers about comments they made to reporters yesterday after question period in the House of Assembly.
Davis and Rogers talked about a letter sent from the Town of Port Blandford about Holloway on April 5, received by party leaders on April 12, saying that an investigation into the letter was being conducted.
Both Holloway and Premier Dwight Ball deny an investigation is underway. Holloway said yesterday that saying an investigation into his conduct was underway amounted to "bullying and harassment at its finest."
Premier Ball said the Commissioner for Legislative Standards has not decided whether to launch an investigation — but a decision could still come to investigate the letter and Holloway’s conduct.
More to come.
