CLARENVILLE, NL — Mitchell Fennell, 35, has been charged with the Jan. 10 armed robbery of Clarenville's Dollarama, located in the Random Square Mall.

Fennell is charged with armed robbery of $87.75, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes (the knife used in the robbery), as well as disguising with intent.

Police allege he entered the store at around 9 a.m. armed with a pocket knife, and fled the scene with the money.

Fennell appeared in Clarenville provincial court this morning, and will appear in court again Monday morning for a bail hearing.

He also faces a charge of stealing two cans of beer from Clarenville Esso on Jan. 2, 2018.
