Motorhome destroyed by early morning fire on Empire Avenue

A large motorhome was destroyed by fire early Friday morning on Empire Avenue.

The St. John’s Regional fire department responded to the scene just after 5:30 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about the blaze in the parking lot of Tommy’s Auto Body on Empire avenue west.

When they arrived on scene, the approximately 12-metre long recreational vehicle was completely engulfed in flames and the siding of a nearby home had melted. A car parked next to the burning vehicle was also damaged in the incident.

Firefighters made quick work of the fire but not before the motorhome was reduced to rubble.

The incident is under investigation.
