“Thanks, Dad and brother,” Richard Driscoll said sarcastically as sherrif’s officers brought him from the courtroom back to the lockup in handcuffs.

Driscoll, 34, and Angela Manning, 31, were arrested early Friday morning and charged in connection with a break-in at one home and an invasion into another earlier in the week.

Driscoll is also charged with two counts of criminal harassment for allegedly harassing and making threats against his father and brother.

Police say they responded Tuesday to a report of a break-in at a home in Airport Heights where a number of firearms were stolen, but no arrests were made at that time.

Thursday afternoon, RNC officers responded to a call reporting a home invasion on Campbell Avenue, where three armed people entered a residence and attempted to rob the people inside. Two people received minor injuries.

The suspects had left in a vehicle before police arrived.

Around 1 a.m. Friday, police executed what they are calling a “high-risk vehicle stop” on Ropewalk Lane near Tim Hortons, and arrested Driscoll and Manning.

In addition to the unrelated harassment charges, Driscoll is charged with two counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited — a rifle in one case and a shotgun in the other.

When he was asked in court if he understood the charges, Driscoll told Judge Greg Brown, “I do, but I wasn’t arrested with a shotgun or a rifle.”

“It’s not about what you were arrested with, this is what you’re charged with,” Brown replied.

Manning, who appeared in court with a wrapped bandage on her hand and arm, has been charged with robbery with violence and break and enter in relation to the home invasion.

Driscoll and Manning are both charged with break and enter and unlawful possession of a firearm in relation to the break-in at the Airport Heights residence.

They were remanded into custody to await their next appearance in court Oct. 4.
