HARBOUR GRACE, NL – Two men are facing assault charges following an incident in Harbour Grace on Wednesday morning, Dec. 13.

Michael Donald Barrett, 34, of Holyrood has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Richard Edward King, 37, of Bristol’s Hope has been charged with two counts of uttering threats, mischief and assault with a weapon.

Upon responding to a call on Lady Lake Road at around 10 a.m., Harbour Grace RCMP determined a man had been assaulted and his truck extensively damaged.

Upon further investigation, police learned another man had been assaulted with a weapon and was in the hospital in Carbonear receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries sustained in an altercation.

The RCMP does not believe it was a random act, as the men were known to each other.

Barrett and King will appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court on Jan. 17, 2018.
