Pat Quinlan dies at 88

Quinlan Brothers founder and president Pat Quinlan has died at age 88. Quinlan Bros. Ltd. announced today (Friday).

According to a statement, Quinlan died peacefully following a short illness.

“All of our employees, suppliers, customers and clients will surely miss Pat,” the statement said.

“He was truly a remarkable person who touched the lives of so many over his long-lived years dedicated to our business and industry. Pat’s passion for the fishery was a tremendous source of inspiration and motivation. Indeed, the depth and knowledge and wisdom that he passed on to many, will live on for many decades to come.”

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John’s.

Visitation will take place Saturday, followed by visitation at Hopkins Funeral Home, Old Perlican, Sunday.

Burial arrangements will be announced later.
