Protesters are gathering this morning outside the Public Utilities Building on Torbay Road in St. John's to protest power rates and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro’s current rate application before the PUB for a 1.2 per cent increase to take effect Jan. 1, 2019.

The PUB isn't sitting today, but protesters are back at the site as they were last Friday at this time. They have told The Telegram they are concerned about recent increases to their electric bills and the coming higher rates once power from the Muskrat Falls hydroelectricity project comes online in a couple of years.

The Telegram is at the scene and will have full coverage in The Telegram's Weeked Edition and at www.thetelegram.com
