A moose-vehicle collision at 4 a.m. on Pitts Memorial Drive Friday morning caused extensive damage to a pickup.

The eastbound truck was travelling east when it struck and killed a young bull moose near the exit to Southlands Boulevard. The front of the pickup was completely caved in, leaving vehicle parts strewn across the highway. None of the vehicle’s occupants were injured.
