SPANIARD’s BAY, N.L. – A pickup truck has been sent for a mechanical inspection after an incident in Spaniard’s Bay on Thursday morning, Aug. 2.
According to the RCMP, the vehicle was travelling east bound and went through the intersection of New Harbour Road and Route 70, crashing into an adjacent home.
The house was occupied at the time but no one inside was injured. The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The RCMP is also reminding drivers to slow down and keep a safe distance from emergency vehicles.
While first responders were at the scene, a driver went through the perimeter that was set up by police and drove into the oncoming lane of traffic to avoid a lineup of vehicles.
The driver was ticketed for failing to yield the right away to an emergency vehicle.
