Police called to St. John’s home after alleged assault and cellphone theft

St. John’s, N.L. —A 34-year-old man will face charges after an incident involving an assault and the theft of a cellphone.

The police responded to a residence on Greenspond Drive in St. John’s about 12:30 this morning (Sunday). As a result of the complaint charges were laid against the man.

He was released to appear in court at a later date.

There were no serious injuries sustained in the assault.
