Police seek witnesses to George Street assault that left man in hospital with serious injuries

Police also ask anyone with cell phone video or photographs from Saturday morning between 3:40 a.m. and 3:55 a.m. in the area of George Street at Adelaide Street to contact them.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is seeking witnesses in their investigation of an aggravated assault in St. John’s overnight.

At around 3:55 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the intersection of George Street and Adelaide Street.

Police found a man with serious injuries who remains in hospital at this time.

Two other men were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s not known whether the men involved in the incident were known to each other and no charges have been laid.

Investigators are seeking any witnesses to the aggravated assault.

Police also ask anyone with cell phone video or photographs from Saturday morning between 3:40 a.m. and 3:55 a.m. in the area of George Street at Adelaide Street to contact them.

Drivers who were in the area at the time who have dash cams are also asked to contact the RNC.
