An 83-year-old man is dead after an accident on Route 211 near the community of Grand Le Pierre Friday evening.
Burin Peninsula RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision around 6 p.m.
The driver and an 82-year-old female passenger were both brought to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre. The driver died at hospital and the passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
In a statement issued Sunday morning, RCMP said their “B” Division Traffic Services and the Burin Peninsula RCMP are continuing an investigation into the collision.
