RCMP keeping eyes peeled on N.L. roads this long weekend with Operation Impact

The RCMP in Newfoundland and Labrador are gearing up to launch Operation Impact 2017 across the province today.

The zero-tolerance enforcement initiative is designed to increase public awareness and compliance with safe driving measures over the Thanksgiving Day long weekend.

In addition to checkpoints, the RCMP will be conducting patrols looking for specific violations including impaired driving, seatbelts, distracted driving, aggressive driving/unsafe speeds and intersection compliance.
