Wood Buffalo RCMP and the RCMP’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) are continuing to investigate the death of a Newfoundlander who was living Fort McMurray.
On Friday the RCMP identified the man as John Bradley Healey, 36, formerly of Clarenville. An autopsy Friday determined that Healey was murdered.
The RCMP says next of kin have been notified.
The call to police was received on June 13 at about 5:40 a.m. The man`s body was located on the access road between Grayling Crescent and Abasand Drive, in Fort McMurray. The access road to Abasand was closed for the investigation.
Police do not believe this was a random act and are asking anyone who may have knowledge of this incident, or who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP Detachment at 780-788-4040.
The RCMP is also requesting any surveillance footage of suspicious activity recorded on June 13 between midnight and 5:40 a.m. to be to shared with police.
