This morning (Friday) around 3:30 a.m. patrol, criminal investigation and forensic officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Weymouth Street, St. John’s.
A 24-year-old man was injured in the stabbing.
Paramedics with Eastern Health transported the man to hospital, where he remains in serious condition, as of midday Friday.
Officers arrested the 22-year-old suspect at the scene and he has also been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and break and entry.
The man will appear in provincial court today.
Police say this was not a random act of violence and the investigation is continuing.
