RNC investigating attempted armed robbery, home invasion in St. John's

In addition to two reported armed robberies in the St. John’s-metro region Wednesday, police are investigating a report of an attempted armed robbery at a house in the capital city.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a report of an attempted robbery at a house in the centre of the capital city around 10:30 p.m.

The RNC said two males attempted to force their way into a home with one male being armed. They were unsuccessful and fled the area. The incident is still under investigation.

Three armed robbery related incidents in one day

This was the third armed robbery related incident in the St. John's-metro region Wednesday.

Around 11 p.m., RNC officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Stockwoods Bakery and Deli in St. John's.

And police are investigating an armed robbery at a Conception Bay South pharmacy around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

A male suspect reportedly entered Green's Drug Mart with his face concealed and demanded drugs and money.

The RNC said the drugs stolen may be dangerous if abused.” They include oxycodone (5, 10 and 20 mg); morphine (15  and 60 mg); and fentanyl (50 mg).
