The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says it first responded to a business on Herald Avenue after a commercial alarm went off around 1 a.m. When police arrived, they found the building had been forcibly entered. Police Dog Services as well as the RNC's Forensic Identification Services were at the scene. An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
A commercial alarm went off a couple of hours later at business on Main Street. Police responded at 3 a.m. and found that business had also been forcibly entered. Again, Police Dog Services and the Forensic Identification Services assisted in the investigation, which is ongoing.
At 6 a.m. Police got a call about a break and enter in progress at a Caribou Road business. The RNC says a door had been damaged in order for the supsect to enter. Officers searched the building and found a male inside, who has since been arrested. He faces charges of break and enter to cause mischief and breach of probation.
