The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary charged two men with impaired driving following separate traffic stops overnight.
A 64-year-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer after they were alerted by a concerned citizen a man may be operating his vehicle while impaired on the Bauline Line near Torbay around 7:40 p.m.
He was released following being charged and will appear in court at a later date. His vehicle was impounded.
In a second traffic stop around 7:40 p.m., also in Torbay, a 53-year-old man was located following a complaint by a concerned citizen and charged with impaired driving.
The driver was released to appear in court at a later date and his vehicle was also impounded by the RNC.
The RNC responded to 178 calls during its reporting period overnight Tuesday.
