Road tear up by St. John's City Hall starts next week

Road construction will begin on New Gower Street in front of St. John's City Hall Wednesday.

According to the city, the scope of work involves removal and replacement of curb, gutter, sidewalk and concrete traffic islands, as well as a resurfacing of the whole street.

Construction is expected to last about two months.

The city said while traffic will be maintained, motorists can expect delays and should find an
alternate route. 

Flagspersons will be on site during construction.
