Sarah McNiven of St. John’s is the 2017 recipient of the“Enriching Lives” car giveaway program.

The staff of Collision Clinic Ltd. on Topsail Road in St. John’s once again played the role of Santa Claus on Wednesday with their 14th annual “Enriching Lives” car giveaway program.

The auto repair business began the event in 2004 as a community relations program designed to give a reconditioned vehicle to a selected individual.

The recipient must apply and explain how and why the lack of reliable transportation interferes with their current and future economic status, and how receiving a vehicle will assist them in becoming self-sufficient.

Auto Parts Network donates a damaged vehicle and required parts, and the technicians at Collision Clinic donate their time and expertise to complete the repairs.

Community supporters donate related vehicle accessories and insurance funding for the first year, along with anonymous cash donations and family gifts.
