A 53-year-old man is facing charges following a hit and run accident that happened in the centre city area of St. John’s on Tuesday night.
The RNC received a complaint around 7:45 p.m. about a vehicle being involved in a traffic complaint.
The investigation determined the man was at fault and he was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident. In addition he netted additional tickets for operating his vehicle with no insurance, running a red light and failing to change his address on his driver’s license.
He was released to appear in court at a later date but had his vehicle impounded.
In another call around 3 a.m., a 29-year-old female was arrested for assault and uttering threats following a domestic disturbance in the centre city area of St. John’s.
She was taken to lockup and held overnight pending a court appearance in St. John’s this morning.
There were no injuries reported for the victim.
