St. John’s traffic stop nets driver with $158,000 in fines

St. John’s, N.L. —A man who apparently thinks the law doesn’t apply to him was pulled over in the east end of St. John’s shortly before 11 Thursday morning during a routine traffic stop.

Police discovered the 33-year-old was driving with a suspended driver’s licence and no insurance. The driver had $158,000 in outstanding fines.

He was arrested to appear in provincial court to answer to the charges.
