On Monday, the RCMP received a report of threats by a male student at French Shore Academy in Port Saunders. The threats suggested violence toward his fellow students and school officials. Police officers went to the school and took the student into custody. At no time was the safety of students and staff of the school at risk, the RCMP stated in a news release.
The teenager appeared in youth court and was charged with three counts of uttering threats. He has been released from police custody on condition that he keep the peace, abstain from contact with the victims and not possess weapons or firearms.
The investigation is continuing.
