The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Rocky Harbour issued a release advising motorists of the collision and road closure just before 1 p.m. Monday.
The release does not say how many vehicles are involved, just that the accident took place about four-five kilometres south of Wiltondale.
The road is closed in both directions.
