Torbay, Bauline councils elected

Craig Scott was acclaimed the mayor of Torbay. The six councillors joining alongside of Scott are: Trina Appleby (1,280 votes), Mary Thorne-Gosse (1,240 votes), Geoff Gallant (1,175 votes), Justin Martin (1,132 votes), Tony Pollard (992 votes) and Peggy Roche (969 votes).

Craig Scott tweeted this photo Tuesday as he submitted his nomination for mayor of Torbay. Being the only person who stepped forward for the job, he will become the town’s next mayor following the Sept. 26 municipal elections.

The unsuccessful candidates were Brian Whitty (824 votes), Ward Gosse (793 votes) and Jason Whitty (331 votes).

Meanwhile, in Bauline, the candidates elected for council are: Craig LeGrow, Joanne Whalen, Carol King, Chris Palmer and Ralph LeGrow.

The mayor will be chosen at the first council meeting.
