A man and woman charged with breaking into a home, assaulting a man with a crowbar and stealing thousands of dollars pleaded not guilty Friday.

Michael Samson, 32, and Gina Marie Penney, 31, entered not guilty pleas in Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court in St. John’s Friday to charges of break and entry, assault with a weapon, and robbery in connection with the incident, which is alleged to have happened on Thorburn Road last March.
Samson was present in the courtroom, while Penney was represented by lawyer Derek Hogan.
Their trial will take place June 18 to 22.
